Introduction to Bonez
Me and Soph have had many business ideas as a couple over the years, and have tried a couple which weren’t really for us. Sophie has made a successful business of her Dog walking venture after she was made redundant from a bank. I told her to do what she loves and as she has a background with animals and doing many courses at work, she began CreatureKind. She has gone from strength to strength and it allowed us to get dogs ourselves as they could be taken out with Soph. So, it was a win-win for us.
Once she was established and we had the girls, Sophie started talking and teaching me about dog health which made me realise that we don’t get enough information as dog owners. I soon realised that you definitely get out of a dog what you put in. I can say that we have always given the girls good quality food and have noticed the difference between them and other dogs that aren’t fed on the best food.
We came up with the idea of Bonez, we had a vision it would be part of our end goal which would be a doggie hotel. We wanted to create a one stop shop for dog enrichment, supplements, high-quality food and treats
As I wanted to bring a bit of personality, I felt a lot of existing business were not aimed at people like me. They were more aimed at people who didn’t need much information. But I wanted to try and bring more peoples eyes to healthy dog food and treats. Which is why we designed the different boxes to draw people in that may not have looked before and would normally buy the cheapest bag of treats off the shelf.
As we have grown, we have started to stock only products we believe in and we have taken away the ones we as dog owners were not happy with or wouldn’t give to our girls. Soph is always great at helping with the queries and answering the questions. I love to learn from her and learn about the different benefits.
So now you know our pups and who we are at Bonez, we wanted to start a blog to share our experiences as a small business and our ups and downs on our journey. We also want to share our experiences and advice we give to our customers and our rep team, who Soph and myself often give advice on products.
